STUFF THE BUS.

Guildford Town Centre's Stuff the Bus 2009 campaign was a huge success!  In partnership with Staples, our final total for the campaign is nearly $22,000, including cash collected and donated school supplies.  The Surrey School District distributed the schoold supplies throughout our community.

Guildford Town Centre partnered with the Surrey School District and Staples Canada for Back to School along with support from The Surrey Leader. The goal was to provide the children in our community with much needed school supplies through the Stuff the Bus program. Working together with the school district and having Staples Canada on board allowed us to help more children than ever before.

“The City of Surrey congratulates Guildford Town Centre and its partners on this initiative,” said Mayor Dianne Watts. “When we all work together, businesses, the school district and parents, we ensure that our kids are well supported and have the best chance for success.”

By way of this program, generous supporters had the opportunity to help the children in the Surrey community in two ways. They could make a cash donation or drop off school supplies at either Guildford Town Centre, Staples on King George Highway or Staples in South Surrey. These donations and schools supplies would then be distributed by the Surrey School District to the schools and families that need it most.

Global BC Morning News Meteorologist, Mark Madryga along with Surrey Board of Education Chair Laurae McNally and Councillor Barinder Rasode, Acting Mayor of Surrey kicked off the 5th Annual Stuff the Bus campaign at Guildford Town Centre on Monday August 17th.
